Versatyl Group builds focused consumer software — tools that cut through complex data and the pace of modern technology, and deliver clarity where it matters most.
Focused tools that solve real problems — no bloat, no noise, just signal.
Tell Mealio what you're in the mood for — in plain language — and it ranks New York City's restaurants and bars by how well they actually match, using a scoring system built on our own venue database. Menus, prices, and neighborhoods included. No ads and no pay-to-rank — results reflect fit, nothing else. Free to use.
Every Versatyl app is shaped by the same convictions about how good software should feel to use.
One job, done exceptionally well. We strip away the noise so the signal — the price, the show, the answer — is the only thing left on screen.
No accounts, no tracking, no ads. Your data stays on your device. We built our apps so there's nothing personal to collect in the first place.
Fair pricing, real ownership, and software that respects your time. Where it makes sense, you pay once — and it's yours.
Partnerships, press, or a question about one of our apps — we read every message.
This Privacy Policy explains how Mealio (“Mealio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a product of Versatyl Group, handles information in connection with the Mealio mobile application (the “App”), a restaurant discovery tool for New York City. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect as little as we reasonably can. We do not require an account, we do not ask for your name or email to use the App, we do not show ads, and we do not sell your information or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information you provide. The searches you enter (typed or dictated), and the content you save — favorites, saved searches, history, notes, and personal ratings. Saved content is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your private Apple iCloud account (see Section 3).
Information collected automatically. A random identifier generated on your device (not your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, or an advertising identifier); basic usage and interaction data about how the App is used — for example, that a search was run, that results were shown, and that you tapped, saved, or opened certain items; your device location when you search, used to rank nearby results (see Section 4); and limited technical information such as app version and selected city.
Voice input. If you use dictation, your speech is converted to text by your device’s built-in speech recognition (provided by Apple). We do not record or store voice audio; we receive only the resulting text.
What we do not collect. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or health data, we do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
We use this information to operate the App and return relevant, nearby results; to understand how the App is used and improve its quality, reliability, and features; to maintain security and prevent abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.
Where European Union or United Kingdom data protection law applies to you, our legal bases for this processing are: performance of a contract (operating the App you request), our legitimate interests (improving, securing, and understanding use of the App), and your consent where required (such as device location, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings).
On your device and in your iCloud. Favorites, saved searches, history, notes, and ratings are stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, sync through your own private iCloud account, which is operated by Apple and which we cannot access.
Service providers. We use a small number of third-party providers to run the App on our behalf — for example, cloud hosting, mapping, on-device dictation, and automated services used to interpret your searches. They process information only as needed to provide their service to us and may not use it for their own purposes.
No sale; no ads; no cross-app tracking. We do not sell or rent your information, do not use it for third-party advertising, and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Because of this, the App does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Legal and business transfers. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property, and information may transfer as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Where your information is processed. We are based in the United States and process and store information there. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States; where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Location is used to rank restaurants near you when you search. Depending on the permission you grant it may be approximate or precise, and it is used only while you use the App. If you do not grant location access, the App uses a default city location and continues to work. Location associated with a search may be retained with usage records for a limited period. You can change or revoke location access at any time in your device Settings.
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described, after which it is deleted or de-identified. Content you save remains until you delete it or delete the App.
Communication between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can delete saved content within the App or by deleting the App, and you can enable or disable location and microphone access in your device Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information associated with your device, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights; contact us to make a request. We do not sell personal information.
EU/UK users. Where EU or UK data protection law applies, you may also have the rights to erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. We expect to update it when we introduce optional accounts and paid features.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Versatyl Group (“Mealio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Mealio mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Mealio is an informational restaurant-discovery tool for New York City. It is not a reservation, ordering, delivery, or payment service. When you get directions, call a venue, or make a reservation, the App hands you off to a third party (such as your phone, a maps app, or a reservation provider); any transaction is solely between you and that third party.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:
The App, and all content we provide through it — including its design, text, compilations, organization, ratings, rankings, and the selection and arrangement of information — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other laws. The “Mealio” and “Versatyl Group” names and logos are our marks. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.
Restaurant information in the App — including names, addresses, hours, menus, prices, photos, and other details — is drawn from third-party sources and provided for general informational purposes. We do not create this underlying information, we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability, and it may be out of date or incorrect. Mealio is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, the venues it lists. Always confirm details (such as hours, availability, pricing, and dietary information) directly with the venue before relying on them. The App may link or hand off to third-party apps and services, whose own terms and policies govern your use of them.
The ratings, rankings, match indicators, and similar outputs the App displays are our own opinions and estimates, generated from the information available to us and provided for guidance only.
THE APP AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION IT PROVIDES IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. YOU USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VERSATYL GROUP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Versatyl Group from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms.
We may modify or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or misuse the App. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where prohibited by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
